Ethics & Safety at Geon
Safety Isn't a Slogan. It's the Way We Work.
We hold safety and ethics in very high regard and dedicate every available resource to upholding them. At Geon, protecting people comes first, ahead of production, every time. We put real effort and investment behind that commitment, so every associate goes home the way they came in. And we extend the same standard of integrity to how we do business: openly, honestly, and accountably.
A Proactive Approach to Safety
Exceptional Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) performance is a core value at Geon. Here’s how we stay ahead of risk:
Data-Driven Visibility
Our data management system lets any associate log incidents, observations, and photos from a phone or laptop, with data flowing straight to the cloud. With one click, our teams can see performance at any location and receive real-time alerts when an incident occurs.
Leading Indicators, Not Just Lagging Ones
We don't rely only on recordable injuries to tell us how we're doing. We track leading indicators: how often we audit, how quickly we close action items, and the everyday practices, such as safety committees and open-door policies, that build strong standards before anything goes wrong.
One Global Team, One Standard
Weekly and monthly open forums bring every location together to share what works, so a best practice at one site becomes a best practice everywhere. No matter where a team operates, everyone is held to the same standard.
Safety Performance
Protecting our people is our highest priority, and we measure how well we deliver on it.
A Strong, Continuously Improving Record
Our commitment shows up in results. We continue to strengthen an already strong safety record:
- Most sites have gone more than a year without a recordable injury
- Several have maintained injury-free operations for more than eight years
- Power Distribution & Battery Housings
- Our goal: a Total Recordable Incident Rate below 0.30 by 2030
Verified by Outside Experts
We invite third parties to look closely at how we protect our people, because we don't just want to hear the good news. We want to know where we can improve.
- Responsible Care Management System® (RCMS®) certification, the chemical industry's standard for health, safety, and security performance
- FM Global audits across our sites
- OSHA SHARP recognition

Ethics: Doing Business the Right Way
Our reputation was built on integrity, and we hold ourselves to high ethical and professional standards no matter where we operate or what role we hold. We work to build a culture where inclusivity is the norm and honesty is celebrated, earning the trust of one another, our customers, our partners, and the communities around us. Our Code of Conduct turns that commitment into clear expectations for how we work, and we hold anyone who represents Geon to the same standard.
We are committed to:
- Keeping associates safe
- Protecting the environment
- Doing business in an open and honest way
- Obeying the law
- Protecting our assets and information
- Using fair employment practices
- Respecting human rights
Most of all, our ethics show up in how we treat people. We never put production ahead of a person’s safety, and anyone can raise a concern in good faith, without fear of retaliation.
