Westlake, OH – January 3, 2023 – GEON Performance Solutions, a global leader in the formulation, development and manufacturing of performance polymer solutions, is proud to announce the appointment of Wendy Herbst in the role of Chief Commercial Officer.
Herbst brings more than 15 years of expertise to GEON in multi-million-dollar P&L management, leading private equity business strategies and directing global cross-functional teams. Most recently she was vice president and general manager of Consumer Specialties at Emerald Performance Materials in Vancouver, Washington. Previous to that role, she was business segment manager and pricing process leader at Arizona Chemical based in Florida, where she led the Roads and Construction Division. She also was marketing communications manager for Eastman, located in Tennessee.
“Wendy will continue to build upon our growth strategies by leveraging her expertise in sales, marketing strategy, and business development. We are excited to incorporate her track record as a visionary leader into our global, focused strategy,” said GEON CEO Tracy Garrison.
Herbst has a Master of Business Administration degree from University of Phoenix and a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from University of Wisconsin.
Herbst replaces senior vice president and Chief Commercial Officer Larry Shaw who will retire from GEON in the new year. Shaw played an instrumental leadership role in 2019 to transition GEON from PolyOne to the current stand-alone company.
Previous to his role at GEON, Shaw held roles at PolyOne for nearly eight years, including as General Manager of GEON Performance Materials and Commercial Director for GEON Producer Services. He also had a 28-year career at Dow, Inc., where he held a variety of roles including Commercial Director, Elastomers, and North America Product Director, Elastomers.
“During his time at GEON Larry has been instrumental in helping to establish commercial discipline and processes to drive growth, sustainability and innovation. His vision and passion will be greatly missed, and we wish him the very best in this next phase of his journey,” Garrison said.
