Westlake, OH – July 7, 2022 – GEON Performance Solutions is proud to share its recent award of a $160,000 Market Development Grant from the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for recycling and litter prevention initiatives.
Designed to assist businesses that purchase equipment and infrastructure for successful markets of recyclable materials and related products, GEON will match grant funds and utilize the resources for critical upgrades to post-industrial recycling equipment at its Avon Lake, Ohio facility over the next two years. “This grant is a testament to GEON’s commitment to a collaborative approach to sustainable solutions for global challenges and improving lives,” said GEON Senior Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer Larry Shaw. “Through the support and sponsorship of the City of Avon Lake, we have the opportunity to enhance the use of recycled content in our manufacturing processes, bringing us one step closer to achieving our goal of a 15% reduction in solid waste by 2025.”
Through the Recycling and Litter Prevention Program, the Ohio EPA awarded more than $1.4 million in grants this year to local governments, businesses, and nonprofit organizations throughout central Ohio to implement recycling, litter prevention, market development, and scrap tire recycling programs. Statewide, the Ohio EPA is issuing more than $5 million in grant funding to 89 recipients. Learn more about the program here.
